CD printer info needed

You're basically looking for an inkjet cdr printer like the Primera Signature series, but you are talking serious money. You also need compatible cdr discs suitable for printing.

Casio CD Thermal Printer.
CD-R title printer CW-50

There is one cd printer from Casio, that retails for about 200 us dollars, as far as I know it is distributed in Japan (but I have seen it retailed in the US for 188 us dollars) very nice results, good luck if you can find one for sale in Europe!, if you do buy one, it would be difficult getting ink refills..

It is a thermal cd printer, will print onto *ANY* CD surface..
Can use different colour inks, including Black and Gold...

check out the html file I scopped from Altavista (translated using Babelfish I think..)

>>X<<

PS-I am trying to get one of these at the moment.. ;)

Primera Technology manufactures two types of printers: inkjet and thermal. Primera's inkjet printers print full-color, photo-quality images directly onto the surface of inkjet printable surface discs. Inkjet printable surface discs can be purchased from any major media manufacturer like Maxell, TY, Imation, Verbatim, etc. Primera sells stand-alone inkjet printers with the Signature IV or SignaturePro. In addition, Primera sells the Bravo Disc Publisher. Bravo is the world's best-selling automated CD/DVD duplicator and printer. This system is priced very closely to Primera's stand-alone printers.

Primera also sells the Inscripta CD Color Printer. Inscripta uses a ribbon to print one and two color combinations directly onto the surface of the disc. Inscripta can print on standard laquer media or thermal printable surface discs.

To find out more about Primera's products, please visit www.primera.com If you have questions or would like to be referred to an Authorized Distributor or Reseller in your area, please call Primera's inside sales team at 1-763-475-6676 or email sales@primera.com.

The Epson printer has a very reasonable price point, but there is a big difference in the print quality. Primera is much better. If you'd like a printed sample from Primera, just call 1-763-475-6676 or email sales@primera.com and ask.

I have the Epson Photo 960 (2 black and 5 color cartridges, 2picoliter droplets) - it prints 1440dpi on whitetop DVD/CDs, and does great photos from my 5mpx camera. Bought it to do the disk printing, but also to do pro quality photos. Am happy with both for under $300. The lower end 900 has 1 black and 1 color cartridge, and costs about $199.

If you need to print in quantity (prob more than 50 ata a time), then a higher-end multi-disk dedicated printer would be better, but for home use you can't beat the Epsons...

Aroud 2/3 down, the TDK CD/DVD Label printer

This is a THERMAL printer and will not print to inkjet printable discs.

It is also not able to do "full face", but only a small rectangular area in each pass.
