CD Identifier wont work - any other like it ?

Must've done something wrong. When I open CDR Identifier 1.63 on, the top half is greyed out. Is there a way to point the damn program to the cdrw ? or is there another prog that does the same job ?
(Not Plextools, as I had mountains of probs with that damn prog !)

I belive CDR Identifier requires ASPI - if you do not have a suitable ASPI layer, then that may explain it.

If you use Nero, try using the Nero Download WinASPI in the same directory as the program.

I'm wary of making other suggestions, as some ASPI versions will do bad things to some versions of windows. (FORCEASPI!)

How about NERO INFOTOOL
w*w.cdspeed2000.com

It's nothing to do with nero, other than they bought in to it!

silly question here but are you using yer burner to read the disk for information !? or yer normal cdr !? you prolly are but i do know that some normal cd rom drives and even some DVD roms will not work with cdr identifier :(

worth noting this as some people do not realise this !?

The same with CD TEXT if yer rom drive does not support CD TEXT then it simply will not be able to read It !! altho it will work every time in yer burner that can write it !!

this is for general info as you may already know this information PHIL :D

and if not you do now :D

yeah but pokopiko ......... look on the bright side of forceaspi it does include the functionality of the choice of backing up yer original ASPI settings and dlls before you start!!:D

read the destructions for more info that are supplied with force aspi :D

so you can roll them back if problems happen which the often do ! :D

so theres another handy tip there for people lol :D

Yeah, you're quite right. Forceaspi is SHITE. More trouble than its worth. A LOT more. There are other ways to put aspi on. I was quite asure I had it on though.

btw. there is nothing wrong with force aspi.

Sorry Poko. Tried forceaspi once, got tons of probs. Never again. May have been an unfortunate coincidence, not prepared to try again ! ;)
