cce problem

Hi, wonder if anyone can help me with this one, I have cce sp, for encoding.
Pretty much every file I try to encode with it is rejected. Read only 0 Bytes, while expecting 8 Bytes. Tmpg and Main Concept will convert the same files without any problems. I would really like to use cce, as I have heard its one of the best. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks :)

What version of CCE? Also what is the input file? If it isn't compliant with whatever you are wanting for output then it won't work anyway. CCE does not resize, etc. so if you want an SVCD, then the source needs to be 480x576/480. This makes CCE somewhat of a hassle to use, hence DVD2SVCD, etc.

I use CCE sp 2.62 and I want to encode to Mpeg 2, so that I can burn onto a Dvdr These are the file details from just the last failure
576x432 pixels
Bit rate128 kps
Frame rate 23 fps
Video sample rate 24 bit
Data rate 123 kbps
Video compression Divx mpg4 v3
Tried this file on Tmpg and Mainconcept, not a problem,
What does the error message that I get mean {Read only 0 Bytes, while expecting 8 Bytes.} Thanks

Like I said, get that to work with CCE and you get a 576x432 MPEG2 file out or if you tick DVD compliant a 576x432 image padded with black to 720x480.

Hmmm, was 2.62 the version that did not support AVISynth scripts as input? If so then I guess it doesn't work with DVD2SVCD? You could use MakeAVIS though if you wanted to frameserve the AVS.

CCE ver 2.62 was pulled by the manufacturer after a short period, its bug riden and as C_D said, no Avisynth suport. Best is to backgrade to ver 2.50 (or if you must, to the latest 2.67). Doom9 download has the demo version for d/l.

So are you saying its the pixel size that cce objects to then. unless the size is 720x480 it wont accept the file. The films I download come in all shapes and sizes, wonder why cce cant resize, it is kind of important :)

Morning Cm Perhaps I am just WASTING my time with CCE. I just heard it was the best.
What encoder would you reccomend.

Nah, what I was saying is that you could waste time trying to get it in there and say you do, then you aren't going to get the output that you want anyway.

With CCE if you want 720x480 output then you feed it a 720x480 source. In contrast to TMPGEnc or MainConcept where you feed it any source, set the output to NTSC DVD and you get your 720x480 output.
