Cce Encoding Failed - Problem

Hello, this is my first post; I need help with a CCE problem. I have searched the forum and not found a similar query.
I have joined 2 avi’s with virtualdub and ran it through avi-repair which found problems and repaired them. The complete file size is 1.4GB. Following CM tut to convert avi2dvd I keep getting the following CCE errors.

CCE ENCODING FAILED
***COULD NOT WRITE TO THE FILE <D:\……….ENCODED_VIDEO_CCE_NTSC.MPV***
THERE IS NOT ENOUGH SPACE ON THE DISK
[WINDOWS ERROR CODE 0x 70112]

I then click OK and the following error appears:

FEXP_CLOSE() FAILED;
***COULD NOT SET THE FILE SIZE <D:\........ENCODED_VIDEO_CCE_NTSC.MPV***
THERE IS NOT ENOUGH SPACE ON THE DISK
[WINDOWS ERROR CODE: 0x 70112]

I have 25GB’s free on drive D
I have tried encoding this avi 4 times and have received the errors each time, on the third try after clicking OK for the second error the encoding continued but did not encode the full avi before going on to the bbmpeg were I got another error “bbmpeg failed”
I have removed Norton’s systemworks to remove “unerase” as requested in the CCE log, but that did not help.
Any help will be most appreciated.

I am encoding on a Compaq Presario Laptop, P4 2.66 with 256RAM

Welcome to the forum.

Can you post the results of what GSPOT says about your AVI ? Have you also tried encoding either the joined (but unrepaired) avi or the individual avi's? Do you get the same error?

Thanks for the reply CM, no I have only encoded the fixed avi and have not tried any of the others, I will sure try them at a later time as I am busy doing another avi at the moment. I have been thinking about this problem and when I said that the third try did continue to encode but did not do the complete avi, I est at about 80 to 90% the encoded video cce file was about 4.6GB's in size, so is the error not referring to disk space on the dvd.

CM, I tried doing the joined avi again without running it through avi-repair.
At 50% of the CCE encoding I got the same first error, after clicking OK the encoding continued, at 70% I got the CCE check-sum error, it would appear to me that the problem is with this avi as all the other avi's I have done all worked fine with the same settings. I will try the joined avi again with one pass, if that will not work I will do each half seperatly
Thanks
