CCE Encoder plugin-How?

I'm very new to ripping dvd and currently use DVDx 1.6 with panasonic plugin(Easy ,good quality and reasonably fast)
However I would like to try CCE Encoder plugin instead cause
I heard the quality is much the same but much faster

But how do you install CCE Plugin into Dvdx? I know that you have to fool it into thinking you have adobe premiere installed on
your system(done that) but when trying to install the plugin
it wants to install into windows temp folder and because you
can't change the path (as it's greyed out ) it fails to install.

Can anybody help
thanx in advance
BTW it'll install as a standalone no problem.

Before I formatted my hard drive I tried flask (ver 6 )
but each time I closed the application I got a fault and had
to restart my system.Maybees I'll give it another go,
In the meantime how did you manage to install CCE thats the
main prob, when I select to install it as a plugin it just wont
happen,as I said before the path leads to windows temp
and is greyed out.

okey, these encoders (Panasonic, CCE, Ligos LSX) normally are not written for programs such as Flask. They are written for Adobe Premiere (talking about the Plugin versions of course), but with a little trick of regmaker which you can find here /http://www.doom9.org/ you can fake the encoders to be installed to Flask's directory. When you're done all you have to do is to rename the Encoder. I donot remember the exact filenames that you have to change in order flask to recognize them but you can find rest of the details in the help file of Flask. There is a new version or rebuild of Flask which is Flask Xis where you can also find above mentioned site.. Just do alittle handy search and you'll find everything you need on the net. One problem is that Flask is a very sensitive program in which it can sometimes cause not properly functioning on certain systems. Hope Chickenman tell you more above all!!!

The file your looking for is attached. Un-rar then double click reg file, then re-install CCE, this time the Pluggin option is not greyed out.

But CCE is not very good in making VCD's but makes excellent SVCD's. The bitrate is to low in a VCD for CCE to handle and is best suited to higher bitrate MPEG2 encoding.

Thanx for the replies but as I said in my first post I have already used the regpatch(but just to make sure I tried Chickenmans file aswell) still the same result though,I can select the plugin option
but it will just not install (the path leads to windows temp folder and is also greyed out) which means I cant change the target directory and it fails,
any ideas
BTW it's version 2.50 I'm trying to install and I've searched all over the forum and just cant find any info.
One more thing I was wanting to use it with DVDx but IF I had
flasmpeg installed would that make any difference in trying to install the plugin
thanx in advance for any!! advice

Soory, didnt read your 1st post fully. But if I can remember, I let it install where ever it wanted to and then just copied the files to the Flask (or in your case DVDx) folder and it worked from there.

Are you making VCD's or SVCD's ? If SVCD's I would strongly suggest using DVD2SVCD with full version of CCE. There is a tutorial in the Tutorial section. If making VCD's I would strongly suggest dont bother, as I said before CCE makes very ugly VCD.

Well it looks like I'm going to have to take your advice chickenman
and go down the DVD2SVCD route cause there's just no way this
damn plugin will install,
Pitty cause I was looking for a shortcut to making both SVCD & VCD.
If anybody else who has had the same problem installing CCE plugin as myself happens to read this post and managed to eventually install it PLEAZ let me know how.

thanks all for the info

YAHOO!!
Finally managed to install the plugin

If anybody else has a problem, what you have to do is edit the
registry patch before inserting it into the registery, by right clicking
on it and changing the path to wherever Flask or DVDx is intalled

i've tried to install like u said (Flaskmeg0.6+CCE2.5spplugin), but i got an CHECKSUM ERROR at the end of encoding!!!
don't know how to get rid of this message.
if you know

have you tried the latest flask ? I had trouble with them all except
preview 0.6 1.1(think thats it) anyway it's the latest one.

before that every one i tried crashed.

One more thing I have never had the error you speak of but under the general tab did you have compile whole movie ticked
if so untick it and enter the length of the movie in seconds,
dont know for sure but it may help.

i had the error like you said girovend,
it says something like that : "not enough disk space" so i uncheck the option and enter the lenth of the movie in seconds. it "works" , i mean it start encoding. but at the end error CRC
is flask06.1.1 had the audio normalization option ?
i use flask 0.6 subfix v2...

Flask 0.6 with 1.1 update does have the Normalize Audio option.

The error message is telling you you need more HD space, by entering the movie length in in seconds is telling it to ignore this error and keep going. But when it runs out of HD space, it errors out. Flask (and other encoders) all need lots of elbow room.

No I dont think there is, but just download form _www.doom9.net download section. Install FlaskMPEG ver 0.6 then copy the 1.1 upgrade overwriting some files.
