Can't use WindowsUpdate.Am I alone?

I am unable to use the WindowsUpdate website. It does not show any updates. And the some links on the left panel are grayed-out (disabled). WFT?!?!

I was running WinXP, and decided to try Win2000 SP3 to see if it solves the problem. No way! :mad:

On WinXP, was using a CDKey said to be of some university.
On Win2000 SP3, used the Pid=XXXXX270 trick on SETUPP.INI, so no CDKey input needed while installing.

Please help me, I'm driving myself crazy.

are you behind a fire wall? because i know mine stops it
and i think service pack 3 for 2000 is all of the major updated too

Wow, I never thought about it. The problem was the proxy I am using!!!
It worked before, but now (last 2 weeks actually), if I enable proxy then connect to WinUpdate, it says there are no updates.

It seems MS is detecting whether you are using a proxy or not.
I use proxy for most sites for security purposes. Not because I am doing something wrong. :rolleyes:
Well, there is nothing I can do but let MS to log my IP.
