can't (un)install Drive Image

I want to uninstall Drive Image, but it doesn't work. The uninstaller starts, the floppy drive rattles for about 2 seconds and that's it. I thought perhaps reinstalling the program first might help, but that doesn't work anymore either. How can I get rid of it now?

I had the same prob the last time i used driveimage

What i done was remove it manually, just delete the powerquest folder, & also the install file msi in program files\installsheild, just right click the msi file & select properties 2 find the right 1, then del the 2 or 3 files beginin with PQ in windows\system & then the 2 reg entries in the registry in hkey current user powerquest & hkey local machine powerquest

It never had any adverse affects on my system

Only delete the reg entries if U have no other PQ software on the PC

Hope It Helps:)

If you have not made a partition backup before installing it, you are close to your next format.
There is no clear way out, even if you delete program folders+ clean registry... you will have big problems in the future installing anything that depends on Windows Installer.
Had the same symptoms, plus the fact that the program refused to do anything of use... hopeless, endless crap.

@scarecrow, i never had any probs with the windows installer after deletin the folders & the msi file

Anythin that used the WI installed ok & the uninstalled ok, but yeah i had this prob with a few of the nwer version of DI(b4 DI2002)I tried right clickin the msi file 2 uninstall it, but just had same as BVV

Nowadays i stay away from DI, there are better progs outh there that do the same thing:)

You're right about that. I spent yesterday afternoon reinstalling windows. Needless to say DI won't be installed again.

I have heard by some that it works OK with dot.net framework ver. 1.0, but not with the latest 1.1
True or not, I cannot take too seriouslysuch an obviously flawed program... Powerquest should hire some true beta testers, and not their customers as such!

Removal of DI

Strange I had not problem removing DI 2002. I am using Acronis True Image. No problem back up whole harddrive straight to CDR. It is certainly a good software.

noda: BVV is talking about DI 7, not 6/2002... which was unreliable (when performing direct burns to CD), but at least was not messing everything up.
