can't play colored discs

My ps2 can't play colored discs. Does anyone know how to make it work? Thnx.

do you mean original coloured bottom discs or backups? if you mean original ones then its a problem with your cd laser (which is quite rare, normaly its the dvd laser that dies first)

my ps2 is not chipped and it doesn't play original colored discs. I bought it right after the prices went down, less than 7 months I believe.

the coloured discs are cd based games (dvd's have silver bottoms with a playstation logo watermark on the second layer) so it sounds like your cd laser is shot, that is quite odd as on most ps2's its the dvd laser that dies first, send it back for a replacement.
