Hi
I have 2 problems which i think theres 1 solution for them.
first Im trying to join 2 xvid with AC3 using virtual dub but there`s a difference in the audio stream second i can join 2 xvid files with AC3 but i`ve noticed that after playing the 1 large xvid the sound suddenly got very low in the middle of the movie ( happened with 2 different movies ) , so i installed ac3 decompressor to save seperate new avi`s with the compress option then join them again but every time i hit save as an error msg appears ( error initializing audio stream compression: the requested compression not possible )
can anyone help or there`s a better way to solve this problem.

If you want to use full processing for the audio then you need to have installed an AC3 ACM decoder. I would however not recommend doing this.

Why exactly are you joining them?

Then just encode each separately to 1/2 dvdr size then when authored link the end of the first part to the start of the second part.

In that case you definatly don't want to re-encode the audio.
I would open the first file in VDubMod, append the second and then demux the AC3. If that didn't work I would create an AVISynth script joining both parts and then using the DSynth AVISynth mod open it with VDubMod and once again demux the AC3.

Run the AC3 through BeSplit.

Join the two AVI's with AVISynth (regular version) and then encode just the video with CCE.

Take the new M2V and old AC3, author and burn.
