Can't get Alcohol 120% running!

After hearing lot of good things about Alcohol 120% and especially it's from the same author of Fantom CD so I have finally decided to give it a spin.

I got it installed without any problem, ran it as TRIAL version first and it got stuck at "...setting Visual drive ...." screen. I had to reboot, uninstalled Alcohol 120%, and cleaned all sight of Fantom CD in REGISTRY, checked to make sure no visual CD drive loaded at StartUp.

Reinstalled the Alcohol 120% v133.1017 (downloaded from other thread), replaced Alcohol.exe, ran the .REG file, and reboot the system (Win98). And again it gets stuck at the "wait...setting visual drive..." screen. I waited for over 5 minutes and nothing happened, can't End Task so again I had to hit the RESET button to get out.

Does anyone here have the similar problem? Or it takes longett than 5-10 minutes to setup the Visual Drive?

I am running Win98, don't remember how many hard drives I have, but the removable drives I have.

1) SmartMedia Memory Card reader = drive H
2) PleXwriter 12/10/32A = drive O (don't see in the list of supported burners)
3) DVD player = drive P (don't remember who made it).

The problem that NO Visual Drive in Device Manager, and the Alcohol 120% locks up at loading before I have any chance to do anything (can't add Visual Drive, and no Visual Drive for it to start).

I read the Alcohol 120%'s forum and they do have few reports about Visual Drive problems but not same problem I have. And thanks for the info.

the lash crack doesn't work properly. I get access violation errors after patching. it would be really great if somebody posted a serial for the retail version

I have tried both DEMO and the CRACKED version and none created the Visual Drive for the Alcohol 120% to start with. I read the Alcohol 120%'s forum has few reports about the Visual Drive problems, one report had problem with no Visual Drive and Uninstalled/Reinstalled solved the problem (I tried 3 times and still no Visual Drive).

Also, I tried the Cracked (.EXE and .REG replacement) from ccsoft with few reports saying the crack does work.

after rebooting the access violation disappeared, but instead alcohol crashes when making an image of copy protected cds. strange, isn't it? tried in demo mode, because I thought maybe it's not fully cracked, but no, still crashing.

I found an older v1.3 build-8xx in Usenet with working serial #'s, but I still don't see any Visual Drive in Devices Manager. This version didn't lockup at startup and let me do the setting (because the Number of Visual Drive set to ZERO), and it locked up with the exact same error when I change #'s of Visual Drive = 1
