WinXP and all other applications see the drive fine. DS is the only app that cannot see the drive.MackemX said:WinXP should really see it and it may need some system files updating
Yes. I have Virtual DAEMON tools v3.44 running. This has had no effect. DS cannot see the virtual disc either.do you have any virtual drive software running?
I click on the drop-list in DS and the list is empty, blank, null...can it not even see the drive letter? I know sometimes device names are not displayed
try removing the virtual drives and turning off Daemon and see what happenStyro said:Yes. I have Virtual DAEMON tools v3.44 running. This has had no effect. DS cannot see the virtual disc either.
There wouldn't happen to be a maximum on the drives/devices that DS can use/search? The error I get complains about 'VI' not being a video DVD (or somesuch).
Same as before I installed the virtual drives - nothing in drop-list.MackemX said:try removing the virtual drives and turning off Daemon and see what happen
Yeah, I was just throwing that out there. I have also reinstalled/upgraded the ASPI driver(s), and installed the OCX files found elsewhere in this forum.I don't know if there is a limit on devices but I doubt it is your issue
Second attempt (forum timed out - weird)...MackemX said:did you add both the files from the thread and associate them?
have you installed the VB runtime files?
something on your system is conflicting and I thought it may be the virtual drive. I know Alchol 120% upsets my system as it cannot see the drive names but it does still see the drive letters. Daemon works fine on my system without affecting the drive names
Whats the exact error message that you are getting? Are you getting it when you first start up DS or when you are clicking on the drop-downlist? It's entirely possible that it has nothing to do with your dvd rom drive. If you get an error anywhere before the box is filled, then it is entirely possible that the fill_Dropdownlist function is never getting called so it is empty.Styro said:The error I get complains about 'VI' not being a video DVD (or somesuch).

What kind of DVD are you trying to use? Is it a regular movie, or is it an Anime, or a VCD instead of a DVD? If you look at the contents of the disc in Windows Explorer, is there a VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folder showing?? And does it happen with all DVD's or just that one??
Hopefully we can get this problem fixed soon so you can see how well DS really works!!

can your mailbox accept 2.5MB?Styro said:I installed the OCX files and registered/associated them. Also installed the VB runtime files (I had higher version files). No effect.
From a programmers point of view, I am going to guess that the problem is originating from DVDStripper. What is happening, is for whatever reason the combobox that is suppose to be filled with drive letters isn't getting filled, and when you click on use DVDDecryptor, it grabs the value that is in the combobox and sends that to DVDDevrypter, so it is basically sending a blank value wich ain't good. I just wrote a really quick VB program that will add all of your DVD drives (And Virtual drives) to a combobox if you want to send me an e-mail (CLICK HERE), I can send it over to you and see if it works. If it does, I will post the code and see if that will help out the DS crew in there trouble-shooting. The file is only 20k, but it may help shed some light on the situationArianos said:Greetings and a happy new year
I suppose you are using DVDDecrypter 3.1.7.
Does the error message come from DVDDecrypter or DVDStripper?. A snapshot (as described in the FAQ) would be most valuable.
Drive VI is puzzling.
If I were you, I would try uninstalling the DVDRom drives and restart. XP is pretty good at fixing itself up.
