cant delete tempimage .nrg files

I recently bought and nec2500a dvd writer,and using nero i copied a few dvds fine until my hard drive was full. I went to delete the Image Files but couldnt locate them after hours of searching, so as i was not able to do any more i formatted my computer. I then put a folder on my desktop and sent the image files to there, but when i went to delete the image file it was empty but it has filled up 4gb of my hard drive so the file has got to be on my hard drive somewhere, but i cant find it. Please help me if you can as im tearing my hair out

have you emptied your recycle bin? this includes emptying the norton protected files if you have systemworks installed.
