Cant change region for DR8-A2

Just bought a DVD writer MSI DR8-A2
I cant change the region code.
I change it to region 2 and press ok.
when i go back to the properties it is set to region 1 again.
Already installed the latest firmware, with same result...
Any idea ?

I've changed the region through the advanced properties of the dvddrive in device mgmt in win2K pro. as stated in the manual
