Can you copy a cdr to dvd

Don't know if this is in the right group, sorry if it isnt.
Is there a way of copying a cd to dvd. I've tried nero and alcohol but no luck, i have searched all sorts of forums for the answer but can't find anything. Hope someone can help.

Sorry i forgot to say it's to back up my pc games so can i use them in my laptop as it only has dvd drive

Wait you do know that a dvd drive can read cds?

Best way to put PC games onto DVD would be to store the CD images and mount them. As said though DVD drives can read CD's fine.

I backed up Enter the Matrix the 4 discs to a dvd by just copying the contents of each disc to a folder in the hd and then burning all the contents of the folder to a data-dvd but then I had to use a patch so I could play the game without the original cd wich I own but I don´t like to use original cds after a drive screwed up my copy of Unreal Tournament.
