I was just wondering because my friend has an emachines computer and has been trying to burn dvds. The cdr drive isnt reading the blank dvdr's. Any info would help, thanks
If you have a dvdrom and a CDR burner, you can of course convert the DVD to another format like VCD or SVCD and burn to CDR's. Again, see the tutorials on how to do these.

You can burn DVD video onto CD-R using the new Nero 6, it's called MiniDVD.
Of course you're limited in the size of the CD-R so a full 4.7Gb DVD is impossible, as is reading/writing DVD±R/RW/RAM/ROM on a CD-R/RW/ROM drive.
