Can I make one big mpeg file containing an entire movie with DVD2svcd; I looked thru the forum but did not find anything about this, also can I just make a sample mpeg file without converting the entire movie? Thanks in advance.

Yes you can, in the Bitrate Tab, set the number of CD's to 1 for all and then the size from 800 to 1600 (thats 2 x 800 ) if you would normally be making a 2 disk svcd. Or enter 2400 as CD size if normally making a 3 disk svcd. Output would them be 1 big MPEG file.
