I am trying to copy my DVD's using DVDxCopy Express 2.5 and my DVD+RW Drive is not recognizing the blank DVD-R's. Is this normal? Should I be able to copy a DVD to a DVD-R on a DVD+RW drive? If not can I use DVD+R so that it can be played in my DVD player? Thank you to all who respond.

Well you want a quick answer to your first question........ NO and your second question if your dvd player supports it.
For a better and more detailed answer look at this that I found for you by doing a search.
DVD-R/DVD+R & DVD-RW/DVD+RW differences?? Thanks VIPER : )
As far as if your DVD player can play it you didn't say what one you have so I would see what other people had to say about it here: DVDRHELP But keep in mined that its just a guide so it could be wrong. I've gotten DVD-R to work on players that the guide said wouldn't play anything at all. So that could change based on how you burned it, brand media, program, speed. Good luck

The drive is called DVD+RW because it uses +R media ONLY... I don't think it can be more clear than that.
I'm glad that you feel the need to berate people who are new to the scene, and I apologize for inconviencing you with such a stupid question. At least I know where I can turn if I need more help Scarecrow. I was wondering mostly if there had been any software updates that would allow the crossover use of the media. Since there obviously isn't I will have to purchase DVD+R.

Scarecrow answered your question briefly & to the point even if there was some humour in the answer.
