Can anyone please tell me if it is possible to burn backup copies,that work, of my dvd collection using the HP DVD writer dvd300e? And if it is what is the best software to use, I have tried several.

Try DVD Shrink and NERO

I have the HP DVD300E and backed up all my DVD's using DVD Shrink 3.1 and NERO 6 Ultra Edition Demo. I also use Memorex 4x DVD+R which is not the best media but works.
