Will be getting cable next week- would a D-Link DI-704 be a
good router/switch 2 connect 2 pc's 2 the cable modem?
This is so wife can be online at the same time I am.
TIA

Yeah its a neat piece of kit - if the virtual service support feature does what it says it does and allows 'multiple servers' (generally using NAT u can only have one server be it games web or ftp, so im not sure how it works) - it would seem like a very good router (maybe it needs multiple ips).

i checked a few reviews - so far so good - seems like a good choice.

just need to connect using RJ45 (ethernet cabling) from broadband modem to back of the router, distance between router and pc shouldnt exceed 100 meteres - geez if it did u'd must have a pretty large house. :)

Personally i'd advise an old pc (486 8mb 850mb) and smoothwall on it, runs like a charm and you have your router and constantly updated firewall.
