Buy Lite-on 40x or 32x?

Hello, finally I find in Spain Lite-On Cd-Burners.

But 40x cost 60 euros more than 32x. What's the principal differences?

What you recomend to buy?

Thanks folks!!!

I have the LiteOn 40x (LTR-40125S). The box says CenDyne Lightning III, but in the box its a LiteOn with sticker to prove it. Believe it or not, I returned a Plex 40x (401232A) to get this drive (which is actually an excellent drive).

The LiteOn 32x has reviewed fairly well, but the 40x is pretty much considered to be the best burner currently out there (do a Google search and you will see what I mean). It has fantastic DAE, is very compatable with media, burns reliably at 40x, and best of all can burn Safedisc 2 v2.51.021...a CD protection that almost every other burner has problems with.

The only bad thing about this drive is that the CD tray is a little flimsy when fully open. The Plex has a solid tray, BTW. But the LiteOn outperforms the Plex in almost every test...so I will trade a slightly flimsy tray for performance any day! Besides the LiteOn is $40 cheaper.

Buy the 40X now!

Just got mine yesterday and boy does it go! :D

Going by the test results I did not think that I would notice that much difference over my 24102b...How wrong could I be?

Very wrong!

Works great with Clone, Nero but will not be recognised by NTI CDM Pro as a 40 X burner for some very strange reason  (I am running V5.1.1.9 with the lastet drive database with the new LiteOn 40X drive listed?!?!?!?!)

Buy it, you won't regret it m8.

HTH :)

P.S.

Also a great reader as well (48X) :D

Buy the 40x as the 32x has less features and probably wont do Safedisc 11 Have been using my 24102B for 6months and have had excellent results Only prob is it isnt slow enough to do PSX games correctly I usually only burn a t 10 sp anyway as fastest isnt always best and most writing probs dont read at the full 40 sp anyway so why worry Incidentaly mine cost me the $186US when I got it as they were really new then now can be got for about $65 US
