burnt dvd not playing on computer...

hey everyone, i find that my dvd backup works great in dvd players but not on the computer that created it.
if i double click on the movie icon while the backup is in d drive, i get a "media not supported" type message.
do i need any new programs to play it on my comp or is it just the way it goes?

What software are you trying to use to play the DVD. You might try to download Power DVD 5 or something, and see if that works.
