burning problems

Seems to me like you are getting what is called C2 errors. These errors are usually correctable with your players error correction circuitry. Most CDRs have a few.

However, you seem to say you have quite a few. C2 errors are a sign for a damaged or dirty CD or CDRs. But on a freshly burned CDR they are often caused by your media and sometimes your burning proggie. What is your CDR media and are you burning at its speed rating?

Also important to note...is that certain versions of Nero are notorious for introducing C2 errors. That why I don't use it anymore. There are better alternatives...depending on your burning needs. What kind of discs you burning with Nero?

That firmware conversion from a Sony to a LiteOn...might be a problem. You know of lots of successfull peeps out there that did this firmware switch with your specific drive without a hitch? You followed the flash instructions to a tee?!

Hi,

I have changed 6 firmwares in 2 month :(

I have changed it to a liteon since sony firmware was giving even worse errors than that.

Yaa - I dont use nero anymore.

I use burnatonce. www.burnatonce.com

I have tried NTI, EZCD, Nero....

Well - when I changed the firware - it said everything was ok.

I booted from safe mode (win 98) and changed the firmware. CD drivers were not loaded.

Anything wrong ??? Plz help !!!

Bye.

If you test the disk quality with the speed disk util using a cd-rom drive (not a CDRW) do the errors still appear?
