burning dvd....

umm....i downloaded a dvd video and i was wondering do i need a dvd burner to burn the dvd....or can i just use a cd burner??..

Hi

If the movie is about 4GB then yes... You need a DVD Burner

If you have image files like *.ISO or *.BIN or *.CUE file the are about 700mb to 800mb estimated guess, may be bigger in file size or smaller depend on the length of movie..

This is know as VCD/SVCD the can be up to 2-3 optional 4 CD-R...

hey....doesnt svcd and dvd use mpeg2 codec??..well i was thinking that if i look for the mpeg file frum the dvd stuffs cant i just burn it as svcd or no??..

no, you will need to recode it with something like tmpeg if you want to burn it as an svcd,and split the file up at 700mb or so , dvd resolution is at a different frame size but you are right they both use mpeg 2 compresion, just at different levels
