I have tried burning my audio files to a cd without success and havd tried using different cd-rs like maxell and sony. I have even used different media organizers to burn it llike windows media player, itunes, and nero. I am still not able to burn an audio cd. Does any one have an idea what is wrong??? I have 2 burners one is a samsung CDRW/DVD and the other is a Sony DVDRW DRU-510A (just installed). Both drives do not want to burn an audio cd.

one important detail needed: mainboard fabricator and model number or chipset fabricator and model number; :)
The motherboard is made by ABIT and the model is a NF7-S and the chipset is nForce2 SPP + MCP-T. If you ask me what all of that is I have no idea.
I tried Nero again and it will copy a music CD on to the Sony brand CD-R, but I can't seem to get certain songs to burn from the media library.

I got the music from my own cds. I ran a test with an older cd that was made in 1993 and that music I could burn to a cd. A cd that I recently got will transfer to my hard drive but trying to burn a copy or burn it from the hard drive will not work.

How do you rip the music to HDD (program, encoder, file typ, settings)?
most of the recent AudioCDs are copy protectet and don't allow digital duplicating (copyright bit and generation bit set), so this could be a reason too;

There is a choice between MP3, AIFF,, AAC or WAV encoder. I use the WAV encoder for good quality. Is there a way to get around the copy protection?
