burners

I'm sure this has been asked before and I'm sorry. I've read about the Lite On's being good and all. I've been out of the burning loop for a while.

What is the best burner out there for copying everything?
Is the Lite On LTR-40125S a good one??

At work I have a Yahama CRW-2200e and have had mo problems. I'm looking for one at home. Any input will be appricated.

Thanks

Of these.....

Here's my question which is the best of the 3
Yahama 2200
Lite on LTR-40125S
Teac CD-W540E

Or is there a better one? I need something pretty quickly.

The lite-on will take care of all my burning needs audio, software and games? My only concern is the 2 mb buffer when some other have up to 8mb. Does this cause any problems?

The TEAC CD-W540E is HIGLY RECOMMENDED!!! It's the best quality writer you can have at present. It is really stable, quick and creates high quality burnings! Plus it has OPC, Mount Rainer support, 2 years warranty and can write most of the disks (not only high quality ones) at 40x. One of my writers is this drive and I am really happy I bought this. I'm planning to buy another as well. Ths writer worth it's price twice! GO FOR IT!

Liteon CD Writer

I noticed a post about `overclocking` a Liteon CD Writer, I thought this only applied to Processors, can any Liteon CD writer be overclocked

I have a LTR 16102B

Thnks

Id be different and recommend the yammi 2200 or 3200 cos i got a yammi too and im pretty proud of it :D

I believe that the best Writers available on the market right now are only two: The TEAC CD-W540E (40x) and the Yamaha CRW-3200E (24x). They both create High Quality burnings and are Audio Quality optimized. Get one of them as they stil are available.

I have a TEAC CD-W540, is very good and fast, burns and copies everything, but I tested the Lite-On LTR-40125, and is good too. Both TEAC and Lite-On can do "correct EFM encoding of regular bit patterns" - this is important to copy certain protected CD's. I heard - maybe I'm wrong - the newest Plextor cannot this. Go to cdlabs at first to view the reviews and benchmarks, and if this will be not enough for you, search the web for more.

I believe you are right. The Yamaha is overpriced... The TEAC is the best value for money right now and the Liteon, but I haven't tested the liteon to see how it goes with mass production of CDs (many copies one after another without problems)... The TEAC does it very well ;)

chronos...

For the money the Lite-On 401248 or 481248 can't be beat. They are less fussy about media, burn almost all the current CDR protections, and are are reliable over thousands of burns (despite what some people may claim ;) ). Give this forum a search and then Google. You will find many great reviews and happy customers with this one.

However, the TEAC 40x and Plextor 40x are also great burners. Just do a little research and go for it!
