burned file size changed from 4.6 GB to 200KB

Hi,

I burned three Memorex DVD R+ DVDs in November using my SONY 510-UL burner. It was image files from TrueImage that I had on my harddrive as system backup. The file size was 4824190 bytes.

I burnt the files using Nero 6. Since then I have sold my SONY burner as I got a NEC1300a through work.

Now when I try to read the files they show as size 209275 KB. How can this be, a file originally 4.6 GB is not 200 KB ???

Does anyone know what has happened, please? Nero never complained when burning the files that they were too big or anything. Also when I look at the surface of the DVD it seems it is full like 4.6 have been burnt.

I take any help you can offer, please!

Sorry the original filesize was 4 403 579 bytes according to explorer (got one file left on my harddrive, but that doesn't bring back the backup)

So how can 4 403 579 bytes written become 209 275 bytes now, please?
