burn using -&+ dvds

i use a sony dru-500ax with xp. i can burn +dvds using nero no problem, but when i try -dvds it just hangs. this only happens when i burn a film onto dvd, if it is a data one then it is no problem at all. i am fed up making coasters with the - ones. +ones are 100% working but are dearer to buy so would prefer the cheaper variety! any advice anyone? :(

Have you upgraded Nero?Some earlier versions had issues with dvd-r.I believe 55917,and up are good.Also make sure the media will work with the Sony(compatible brand).Writing to dvd-r or dvd+r shouldn't matter,both should work,if the player is compatible.

Another good burning soft is Stomp,Record now Max.Many people like it better.;)
