BT Broadband ADSL/Pop Ups

Hi. Has anyone in the United Kingdom who has installed BT Broadband's ADSL Modem service had a problem with POP UP's? I've had the service for about 3 weeks now and am more than satisfied with it. However, every time I launch Internet Explorer and go to my homepage http://www.msn.co.uk - it keeps launching this second window: http://www.topclicks.net on which BT Broadband is advertised. It is very very infuriating and if you try to close the window, it does 1 of 2 things.... 1) Refuses to let you click the X in the corner or 2) starts to launch other popups like Nokia Game and those awful Competition screens saying you've won money. I have tried 3 different PopUp Killers, currently I am using Popup Ad Filter by Meaya which seems to be no better than the others. I have tried everything I can think of, including emailing the info address at topclicks.net but the email always comes back as undeliverable. Please help me, I'm desparate. I'm wondering if there is something in the registry I can alter to prevent this topclicks.net window from appearing but I don't know what to change. Thanks.

Have a look in c:\windows directory to see if you`ve got a file called Hosts or hosts.sam.

If you`ve only got hosts.sam make a copy without the .sam ext, ie just called hosts

Open it with notepad, edit it so that it looks something like this

127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 www.topclicks.net

This will redirect topclicks request to your own pc rather than the site. See http://www.smartin-designs.com

Alternatively get a popup stopper...

@borogovio - I tried that already and it didn't work.....
@bertieg - thanks, no I haven't tried that software but no need now as Inca's information worked successfully. Cheers anyway.
