Brother HL-1440 Laser Printer

I just got this printer from staples for $99.71 plus tax and no rebate, So far I'm happy with it. :D How can I go wrong a laser printer for that price. Dam the stock ink for my HP Deskjet 930c would cost me almost that. So I kick HP to the curb I only used it to print text anyway.

Good move... If you print a lot of black text, and preview images in mono, then a Laser printer will pay for itself, compared to the Inkjet's appetite for "liquid gold". On cartridge head printers, you can only get refills/remanufactures and not clone carts, and the performance can be variable - if you refill your own, don't run them to bone dry, as it can kill the head or at least make re-priming a nightmare.

You can even save money on refilled laser cartridges, as the supposedly "one-time" drum in an OPC cartridge will normally stand at least one more fill, if it hasn't actually been damaged.

PS. Did you know one HP Inkjet model actually has region-coded supplies?
Several models have date coding that prevents you using an expired cartridge.
