broadband connection problem

if i have my broadband on all night, i can`t switch it off so that i can re-boot. might be great for dial-up users, but it`s a pain in the ass. tried re-installing and also re-formatted at one time, but the problem remains. no viruses or anything. have bt broadband, not the yahoo one. anyone else have the same problems? can connect no problem at all, just if it`s on all night or for 4hours or longer.

turn the comptuter off or hang the connection as you would with dialup just disconnect using the icon on the task bar that shows your dialup connection :)

if not find it in start menu /settings / network connections choose your connection and choose disconnect :)

also in internet options /connections choose to never dial a connection

is it internal or external usb /pci !?

how are you connected !? via a wall socket or a hard wired !?

we need more information !?

note i will add here that if you turn off the computer there will be no connection period.

although the adsl line is there its not in use as the computer has to do the handshaking and connection sending user details and password to make the connection no power to the computer means no connection
