Hi everybody.I made a 10 DVD ( short documentary )copies on Lite-on using Nero -Quick copy ,buffer enabled and movie on all of the copies stopped
in the same spot in my friends players(USA ).Before shipment I checked them all on three different DVD( on computers). One of them stopped and than worked ok on 2 other DVD players. Now I have got bad news that two of them keep stopping in the same spot and did not proceed.
Is there a way to check if the source is corrupted.( Software ).
Any suggestion why and what could go wrong. Thanks for reply and sorry for
ignorant explanation.
Win XP SP1. Peace.

By saying TDK doesn't tell use anything. Use Dvd Decrypter and see who makes it.:)

And what drive!

Some drives are incredibly fussy on media, and if a burn is barely ok, then it's likely to start developing problem around the speed switch points (it's possible that 4x burns may do better, as they have no speed switch).

A bad burn, will suffer some degradation of it's own, but over a shorter period, it's more likely to be the result of having no leeeway to allow for handling deterioration.

Decrypter

Ok. I used decrypter analized media however could not find info about who made it.I will try to burn with decryptor when I got some disc in the meantime You just made me realize that I know nothing about dvd technology.Quote : ( having no leeeway to allow for handling deterioration.) ?Suggestion about the drive might me right because when I burned on more powerful comp I had no problems.Anyway ..long way to the..
Thanks for Your support.Peace.

Not a specific description, but I prefer to split the way readability declines into:

1. Degrading of the dye layer, due to ageing, UV etc. ... difficult to prove or evaluate.
2. Handling - the accumulation of dust, spots, fingerprints, scratches - the same reason you'd try to back up a pressed DVD to keep it from sufferring in everyday use.

There was an old test done with some of the first CDs, proving how robust they were - even abused horribly, they still read - because they started out PERFECT.

There is a certain amount of error handling capability in every CD or DVD (C1/C2 or PI/PO) - and if most of that is already used in handling a poor burn (or today's low quality pressings), then there is a lot less in reserve for aquired damage, or for readers that are not as good as the one it does read on.

Most DVD Players are considerably less tolerant than PC drives.

In general, the NEC, Benq, Pioneer have tended to get the best out of the majority of media, while the Liteon (and current Sony) have tended to be unforgiving of anything other than top quality media.

If your writer is one that is "picky" on media, then you have to find media that agrees with it - and I'm wondering if it is a Liteon, as TDK DVD-R is not one of the favoured medias - TTG02 coded, perhaps.

DVD Identifier or Advdinfo are a couple of other programs that can read the media code - Nero Infotool - I think reports it as well.
