blue screen of death

STOP. 0X0000008E, (0XC0000005, 0X805815B2, 0XBA1AABB4, 0X00000000)

if anyone could help i would be most gratefull as i would look the dogs nadgers even tho i havnt got a clue.... :D

He should come here and attach his dump file which is created after the system crash. No need for full debug mode (the file will get HUGE), just minidump or normal dump.
This is the only reliable way to find the reasons that create a BSOD.

There are a few things that can cause these type of problem.Sometime, it is either bad hardware/ bad drivers, even incompatible software, like antivirus programs.
Does this happen when they try to run a program or at any given moment?

thanx guys i have emailed him your replys. And i have tried several times to get him to register on the forum. Hopefully now the plonker will

He can try the hard way. Swap out all cards who are not needed and disable all not needed features of the mobo.

Only the mobo, one controller for the hd, the ram and the graphic-card are needed to start the sytem. (and the keyboard/mouse of course).

If the bsod has gone then he can rebuild his pc...step by step until the bsod arrives again.

thanx for your help

waltontowers has just text me. he reformatted his system started to install every thing up until roughly the time he installed nvidia card drivers then up came the bsod. unforunately he cant send dump file cause he cant get thge machine to stay working long enough :(

nvidia card drivers  If I'm correct there was a replacement set of drivers for many of these cards..If you can upload the video card details I'll have a hunt for you..
Sorry just saw the type of video card he has going to check it out for you.

Ok in this link they'll have sites to download the drivers hope this correct his problem. And there an problems with drivers version 23.11 and I think 22. series.
More info here

the saga goes on and on

Rastabt thanx for your reply. i have spoken to waltontowers (who is fast becoming suicidal) he has gone for afull format again and had the same problems again. the code on the bsod is as follows -:
stop;oxoooooo7E(oxcoooooo5,oxF6503c27,oxF896D840,0xF896d540)
tbcspud.sys-address F6503C27 base atF64EB000, DATESTAMP 368d7887

here is the story...
1. reinstall win xp pro corp edition
2.nvidia drivers from installation disc(aopen card)
3.msn 6.1 (downloaded from msn site)
4.santa cruz sound card drivers installed
then created a restore point
5.then went to microsoft download page and downloaded display drivers |(oct 03) and micro devices (dec 02) and realtek network drivers (april 04)
and up comes the blue screen of death.
after rebooting it allowed him to do a system restore but once he does a disc check up comes the bsod agian....

please help a life could be at stake lol...........
also could some one email with insruction how to collect and post the mini dump file... cheers

The above bang is from the Santacruz drivers.
Tell him to remove the card completely, or move it to another PCI slot.
He should try to install the Santa Cruz card on slot 2 & in bios set it to IRQ 5- for achieving that he might have to disable ACPI, as it tends to share resources for such cards on IRQ 9.
Here's a long troubleshooter etc on Santacruz cards:
ftp://ftp.voyetra.com/pub/tbs/santacru/5859999.txt
And of course the latest set of Santacruz drivers is recommended.

a big thanx

just to say thanx for everyones help, i have just spoken to waltontowers and things are looking up. He has started again and left out othe santa cruz sound card and its all working sweet at the mo..... :D

Ah criminy, my old reliable Santa Cruz card is BSODing on every boot.

I was using the driver set before the most recent one, installing to Windows 2000 SP4. My mobo is a Gigabyte K8NS-Pro Nforce 3. Most recent Nforce unified drivers have been installed.

I uninstalled the old and then installed the newest Voyetra SC drivers for Win2K/XP.

I've got the card installed to PCI #5, so I set the IRQ for slots 1&5 (combined) to '5'. I set Irq assignment to manual.

Still no joy. Every boot into normal windows is BSOD, hung on the SC driver 'tbcwdm.sys' The only solution was to uninstall Turtle Beach drivers and the Santa Cruz card.

I could take out the SC card and set up the integrated nvidia sound, but it really irks me. I haven't had this problem until recently with this mobo. all suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

Is there the possibility to set up your SC in a non shared PCI slot? have a look at the MB manual and search for "IRQ routing table";

next try should be a fresh W2k installation in "Standard-PC" mode and not as ACPI or APIC machine;

Thanks for your response Duracell.

What, has it been only five years since MS started using ACPI? I assumed that all the major problems had been ironed out. Silly me.

I might move on to a different sound card. I've had the SC for the last four computers (and, I confess, I've been very satisfied). Cheers!
