Blade oversize problem (PAL)

Anyone able to help. I have used smartripper and ripped the movie. I ran ifo-edit V0.91 and followed all the instructions but still the movie is to long for a single disc. I have a Pioneer A04 drive, run Win2k on an NTFS formatted drive. Is there a known prob with this movie that it wont go to 1 disc. Also and this maybe crap I'm not sure but I heard somewhere that an image is bigger on an NTFS partition than it is on a Fat32 partition is this true or is someone pulling my leg ???????????
This is the first disc I have tried to burn so am keen to get it right.
Any help/advice greatly appreciated. Regards....

Look in the tutorials section, there are guides by Elpresidente on how to reduce the size.
You'll find there are MANY dvd's that will not fit.
All the info you need is on the forum, if it's not in a guide, it will probably have been asked and answered already.Just use the search function.

Have fun

Just had a look at just the film in SmartRipper and it is 4,939,622 KB and I think even with stripping both 2Ch audio streams and the subtitles you'll be lucky to fit it onto 1 disc without re-encoding.

Now could be a good time to learn how to re-encode and re-author DVD-R discs as after a bit of experimentation you can fit 2 films on a disc with title selection and any other bits that you might want.

I've noticed that alot of the most recent guides use Scenarist but I highly recommend DVDMaestro. Its much easier to get to grips with and just as powerful as well

Also check out h**p://www.doom9.org/

For a couple of easy films to copy try Scary Movie 1 & 2, Shrek or Planet of the Apes as they will all fit if you rip just the film & 1 audio channel and most will allow you to keep some of the extras.

Don't worry about NTFS / FAT32 partitions as once its burned its not on either. The OS may tell you how much space a file takes but your burning software will know the actual filesize.

Have just grabbed DVDMaestro so will have a look at it. Since I posted, I have managed to do some stuff (Life Of Brian) (Classic Movie)... And all went well. So its now onto the Blade again. Thanx to the ppl for takin the time to reply. Will let ya know how I get on with Blade.........
Regards.....:)
