Black Hawk Down image

I want to use the Image Making Wizard in Alcohol 120% to make an image of Black Hawk Down. It only works when i put it in the CD-RW/DVD drive. When i want to make the image, it won't let me pick a copy protection type. It won't work and I don't know why. Will someone please help?

So what you are saying is that you can't select Securom NEW* (4.8.x) (or anything else for that matter) as a datatype in the image making wizard dialogue thingy?

Yea. But it acts like the dvd isn't there if it in the regular cd drive. It has to be in the cd-rw/dvd drive to even recognize it.

This is normal behaviour.....dvd's can't be played on a cd drive, and if the game is on a dvd,it also explains why you can't select any of the Alcohol 120% profiles:they only work for cdr....

Even that didn't work. It only recognizes the disk when its in the dvd drive. When I click image making tool there is no datatype selection. It isn't there.I give up. Thanx anyways.

Just occured to me... Are we talking Delta Force BlackHawk Down or the movie??

Because if we are talking about the movie then you are simply going about it the wrong way. Wrong forum for a start.

For that matter, if you're talking about the game rather than the movie, are you talking about PC version or PS2 version?

Sorry. I was talking about the DVD. I thought it would be in this section.

EDIT: Where should i post this. I dunno what section to choose. There doesn't look like there is one for making an image of a dvd using Alcohol 120%.

PS2 version? Well there ya go, I didn't even know that there was one.

Most comercial DVD's (movies) are copy protected and Alcohol 120% can't copy encrypted discs. Then there is the whole issue of the movie being on a DVD9 (I know BlackHawk Down is) and your blank being a DVD5.

If you want to create an image of an encrypted DVD, then try DVD Decrypter, however in this case you are going to need to shrink the movie before burning.

Also I'm moving this to DVD To DVDR for ya.

Why would anyone write a program to "screw up" DVD's?

As I said you are going to have to shrink it before burning anyway, but no DVD Decrypter does not screw up DVD's. If the original was a DVD5, you could rip it with DVD Decrypter and burn it straight back. The resulting disc would play fine on any player as long as they could handle the media.

Edit: Just occured to me, if you had AnyDVD installed then you should in theory be able to copy encrypted DVD's with Alcohol as it would take care of the decrypting, etc.
