Bin/Isos

Are there any other programs that can write files and folders to bin/iso images other than winiso? Thanx in advance.

you can use isobuster its small and easy to use.
You can find it out on w*w.navnetwork.net or other warez sites ;)

nedd pass for zip file...

Hell I've downloaded ISOBUSTER, but there's a pass I don't have .
I tried to apply 2 pass cracker (advanced zip recovery and zip key) but it doesn't work.
Here is the prog. If someone could help me.....

fireburner is excellent to burn bin and cue ... very easy to use :)
fireburner is O.K., but it is known to burn bad images from time to time. Even better is Burnatonce. It even works on my Matshita UJDA 720 laptop burner...a burner that very few proggies support.

I don't think anyone really understood the question...

It looks like adyf has ISO's or bin/cue files which he wants to add files to. Of course, this is a function which WinISO provides.

I don't know of any other program that will do that, and I suspect the reason is that it's impossible to perform this process on an already compiled ISO whilst maintaining proper integrity in the filesystem.

Basically, it's a bad idea. It will always be a bad idea and WinISO disregards this fact probably because it's a also popular idea :)

You're much better just remastering your ISO with CDRWin or Microsoft CDIMAGE.

Might I ask why you don't want to use WinISO? Perhaps it wasn't doing the job properly?

I agree with you Bilto...its best not to add files on the fly to an image with WinISO. I personally love to use WinISO...it's a great proggie provided you accept its limitations.

Better to extract the image to a file with WinISO...then add whatever you want to this file to you heart's content...then create a NEW image of all files... and burn with Burnatonce or CDRWin.

I do this all the time...no problems at all after 20 or so discs. :cool:

Just to clear this one up, i downloaded the MOHAA iso in bin/cue format. I also downloaded the MOHAA update, which i dropped into a folder. So for safekeeping i used winiso to add the update folder to the bin image and burnt to cd so everything i needed was on one disc. Then when i browsed the cd to the update folder and clicked on the update.exe it wouldn't open, therefore i wasted my time. What's strange is that i've never had a problem with any game crack added to a bin image released by cracking groups such as deviance or fairlight.

Well, that's what I'm saying. It's not a reliable method of adding files to your CD. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The automated addition of files to your existing image is always going to be a flawed process, unless someone builds a tool that will scan every feature and structure type used in the disc image and recompile the image with the same attributes.

To my knowledge, such a program doesn't exist.

I don't think there's even another program that does what WinISO does, this is because the programmers know it's a flawed, risky procedure. Most programmers won't add a "this might work" feature to their software.

yep, me too... winiso screwed my cd's all the three times I edited a bin with it... the files I add are inaccesible and in one case it destroyed the whole cd... I heared someone telling that phantom cd has edit features, but I have not tried it...

i wanted to do the same thing but got a cd where only the added file didn't work.
after changing the image to .iso and then adding the files and burning it worked. i dunno why but it worked.
but i'm not sure about the formats (if it was first a bin then a iso, or something else... i think it was like i said first, but no warranty! )

Right or not right?

my therory: if you add files by WinISO to a *.bin (wich includes subchannel data) and burn it with using a function like "don't repair subchannel data", so the result is a CD wich contains a file system with not compatible subchannel data;
if you let the cdr software (RAW Mode) or the CDRW (DAO) generate new subchannel data, there is no problem afer burning; I'm right or not? may pokopiko is the man, who can find the solution of this miracle; :D

*.iso doesn't include subchannel data, therefor are no problems by adding files to an *.iso

You're probably quite correct to a certain extent Duracell. Sometimes you can add files to a bin and not the ISO equivalent, sometimes it will allow you to add to an ISO, other times (like when the ISO contains a post gap) you can't add files either. There are just too many variables to make the process reliable.

But, like you guys are saying - if you really don't want to remaster the disc, then it might be a good idea to try converted ISO/BIN alternatives.

Another thing, sometimes you can access appended files from Daemon Tools, sometimes you can't.

I don't think there's going to be a short and sweet answer to this problem unless WinISO's author puts some seriously heavy work into his product.

thanks Bilto & pokopiko

first i'll say, had never problems with adding files by WinISO, equal if *.bin or iso (eg complement game CDs ;) , adding drivers, SP & apps to bootable OS installation CDs); maybe the reasons were luck and always "repair subchannel data";
to preserve me for data loss i will remaster in future the discs, if i add some files; better a little more to to, instead a coaster;
so i will use WinISO only to convert images in *.iso and to extract or preview files; i swear :D

I had been using WinISO to add files to Images and (probably by pure luck) never had any failures. Until recently....:(

Getting pissed off, as you do, I did a quick search and found this thread.

Poko - I like the idea of using Juggler (although I'm pretty new to it) but can't get your method to work....

When I drop the ISO image onto Juggler (after starting a new "Create CD Task"), the file is added automatically and I'm not prompted whether I want to treat it as Data or an Image. WTF am I doing wrong?

BTW - Juggler version is 4.01 1002.

TIA

LOL - at least I was trying the method correctly :)

I guess I'll have to extract the image, modify it and then recompile manually?

Damn - was hoping for a quick fix :(
Thx for the info.
