Best software to do precise cut?

Hi, I wld like to seek your help:

I need to edit a 2 second video out of a mpg file. I used Tmpgen to cut into 2 parts and thus edited out the 2 sec. But, when I tried to join the 2 m1v, it won't join at the right place. Eg. I set the starting cut to be 0:00:00 the resulted length is 66.6sec and no cut is done. Buy when I set to 0:00:01, the length is 64.8sec. Which cut out the part that I want to retain!!! I'm puzzled.

Is there any software/better way to do a precise cut?

TMPGEnc is not frame precise; you have to use an editor with frame precision such as M1-Edit or Myflix.

You can use TMPGENC, in the Merge & Cut section, load in the MPG file twice. Edit the first one, START to be at 0 sec and the END is just before or upto where you want to cut teh 2 seconds out. Hit okay, then edit 2nd loaded file and START now to be just after the bit that needs to be cut out and the END to be at the end. Okay out then give a file name and hit RUN. The resultant MPG will now hove the bit you wanted remeoved, actually removed and all done in the one go.

myflix 3.06 works only with mpeg1.

for mpeg2 you will need myflix XE ...

There is a TMG keygen but don't now if it works for the newest version.

I recommend Womble mpeg2vcr 3.12 for frameaccurate editing (or m2edit pro 5).
