Best Software for Plextor 40x?

Just getting ready to install PlexWriter 40x12x40A.
I have been using a PlexWriter 12x4x32x SCSI.
My software includes WinOnCD 3.8 (for burning LP's to CD's), CDRWin, ISO Buster, Veritas DLA, EAC, CD-R Diagnostic, Clone CD & Clony.
I am using Win98SE as my OS (just waiting for a blue screen of death before putting WinXP Pro on.
My question: Will I have to replace WinOnCD 3.8 or will WinOnCD 3.8 PE work with the new 40x PlexWriter?
Should I leave the Plex 12x SCSI in my machine (I also have a Pioneer 12x DVD-ROM)?
Can I copy SD2 with this burner?
Thanks. I always appreciate the help.

I have a KG7 RAID mobo and two 40 GB IBM Deskstar HDD, and a Maxtor 20 GB 7200 rpm HDD which I use solely for backing up. I went to this when I decided to switch to an AMD processor, and put everything into a Liam case. Over 60 programs have been installed, and I have rarely had a crash with Win98SE. Prior to WinXP release, I filled out a survey on MS site, and in return I purchased WinXP Pro and a MS lamp for $50 including shipping. I have had this since the latter part of 2001. My system has been too stable to change. I have installed WinXp on two other networks and I am very happy with it. Believe me, I am itching to go to WinXP Pro.
Anyway I do not have the Plex SCSI 40 reader.
Can I just use the Plex 12x4x32x as a reader for the Plex 40x12x40x I just purchased?
Any chance that my Plex 40x12x40x can do SD2? I noticed under "Copy Protection" threads, someone claims that when changing the firmware on the Plex 12x4x32x from 1.07 to 1.04, the burner can then burn SD2. Can anyone verify this?
