Best Security For Computer

I have made an enemy who is threatening to tell software companys that i have P**ate software installed on my system,
What is the best way to secure my pc from anyone ?
apart from selling or wipeing it.
Not sure what software i can use ....ps using windows xp

Well, you need a firewall that blocks even outgoing traffic (the one integrated in XP blocks only incoming), and doesn't send data to firewall-company itself. Or just use a freeware-firewall!

How does this "enemy" know? Did he hack into your computer via your Internet or LAN connection or did he see you using it? Are the threats verbal or via email? Are you at home or at work?

The next time I see a personal Computer with NO illegal software will be just after format C.There cant be many about I agree just ignore him or if U are really worried buy all the s/ware U are using or use shareware / freeware.

Well joripe you've not seen my pc then. I've got a brand New pc B it 2 months old now and workin here I've seen many illegal software which I could use.BUT
Only problem is I'm all legal
No dam Hard drive! installed....heehee

Tell him you will call the same companies (which you have contacts in - bullshit) and inform them of his piracy likes. Also the Gvnmt would like to know of his kiddy prn likes... Wheather he does or he doesn't people turning up at his house will humiliate him
