flashfxp if you ask me ; it's very widely used too; i started with cuteftp and then switched to flashfxp because cuteftp had a minor bug in it.

just search for flashfxp ;many sites including this site has the full version for it

think its like most things u have to try them and find out which one you prefer. They all have there good and bad points

there was already one or mor thread about that topic use the search button at the top !
i personally used smartftp for a long time, cause it was easy to use, freware, and i like the tree view for the ftp servers
but since some time i use cuteftp pro, the transfer engine is very usefule there and some other handy options, it's more professional

FlashFXP is the best for me. After many years using CuteFTP and others i've got FlashFXP and i love it

SmartFTP [h**p://www.SmartFTP.com] is my program of choice.

It's easy to operate, it can handle SSL explicit & implicit and it's free - what else do I need?

Come on - have a try...:)

There are many good ones around. However I have found out that some of them for some reason cause CRC errors. Don´t know why but it´s a fact. The one I have found almost never mess up my downloads is Ftp Voyager.

But as FortiTude said..there should be other topics about this if you use the search feature.

ws_ftp is very comfortable, especially because it inserts a BHO into IE, so when you click on a ftp link, ws_ftp tries to download the file, instead of internet explorer. if ws_ftp notices that the destination is a directory and not a file, it will open the main programme and log in automatically. I think we all know that IE cannot handle ftp sites, so this programme is really valuable.
apart from that ws_ftp itself is comfortable, even if the newest versions since version 7 have become worse (e.g. the transfer manager is in a separate window, and one has always switch between the programme itself and the transfer manager; this was better solved in previous versions).
anyway, this programme is very reliable, it works on servers, where flashfxp gives up.
cuteftp is second choice, but personally I like ws_ftp better. nothing objective about this, just my personal preference. actually ws_ftp pro and cuteftp pro 2 are equal.

to php I liked that change in ws_ftp

When I upload to the web page I can keep on jumping around picking files from many files send them and start the next set. in the older ver 6.x I had to wait until server side completed before changing to next folder. With 100plus pages and many folers and files this program works pretty good
