Best Free Burning Program for Liteon

Hi All

I have just got a Liteon DVD Burner and after doing the tutorial and having the same probs everyone else seems to be having (the burn stops after a few seconds and says it can't burn, blah blah blah) I need to know if there is a good burning program out there that works with Liteon burners and is free (not ProDVD cause the author doesn't answer his mail). Can anybody help?

A

Thanks Blane, I've tried it and came up with an error when I got to the BOA stage, everything else worked fine. Apparently BOA needs another program (ProDVD- which need a key from the author to work, which he rarely gives out any more) to work with Liteon burners - does that sound right to you? I'm a complete newbie and am in the dark.

A :)

I think Laz has a great tutorial but the only thing I did change was I use CopyToDvd.
But that just me I never had luck with BOA. Other than that I don't think you can find any easier way to copy a dvd, with out spending money.

I just mailed Jörg Schilling for a cdrecord-prodvd key the previous day.
Received a reply with my key after 16 minutes!

i have a lite-on burner and i use nero 6.3.0.2 and i have had no problems with any of the dvds i have burnt. i also use dvd decrypter and dvd shrink. sometimes i use imgtools for dvds that are small enough to burn without shrinking them. good luck.

edit by Rastabt..there are many sites taht host freeware programs like www.webattact.com for one. . :)

You don't even need to email for a key he put one in his apache footer for the download page some time ago.
This file contains a key for most platforms that may be used for private/educational/research use.

What's the deal here? Is everyone saying that DOA (whatever that is) doesn't work with Liteon drives?
There's a ton of burning programs, some are even free, and why would they care if you have a Liteon, or some other brand?
What tutorial are you referring to, where your burn quits after a few seconds?
Sounds to me like we need a new tutorial, with different software ;)
I noticed in another link, a whole ton of free software, burning apps, authoring apps, encoding apps, ripping apps, backup apps...even a google turns up pages of good free software to manipulate/burn dvdr's.

Just a few of all the FREE tools available. At one time or another, I have used them all. Most work as advertised, with no complaints.

Let me just say this and I'll leave at that stick with BAO .99b as long as they use prodvd  for the dvd burning software!! Thats just MHO. :)

We were only referring to the Burnatonce tutorial by Laz using freeware burning apps. The user was going by that tutorial. The burn failed because of BAO.
