Best Fit for AVI, MPG etc. to DVD

Can anyone tell me the best 'all in one' software for recording AVI etc to DVD giving the best fit (quality) for any given input source size. Some of the DVDs that I have made do not compare to the original AVI. I am using a Richo 5125A DVD+R. The software supplied was NeoDVDstandard4, which is ok but gives good, better and best as the quality levels. Very often there is a lot of space left after using "better" because "best" would not fit. Thanx

MO - AFAIK, there is no all-in-one, convert everything to DVD-R and burn it software out there. Poacher is right, it'll take a little effort on your part.

Thanx

Thanx to you both, Poacher and Aybesea.
I guess I will have to persevere and do it the long hard way. But there again if one of you was to write a program...........

I cant write a decent memo much less a program & there are a few so called easy methods but the results are rubbish <> if U want the best results U have to work at it.I started out with not a single idea on doing all the movie crapola but I perservered with Chookie Mans tutorials & I made some Good quality S(VCD) now I do DVD-R but I still follow the tutes <> cos it pays off in the long run:)
;)

Pinnacle Studio 8 does a reasonable job, even keeps audio in sync when capturing DV camera to AVI to MPG2 (DVD). Only about $69, too.

If you follow the tute as the Poacher posted, the encoding requires a 2 click to complete, once it all setup the first time. How haard is that. Authoring, all you do is simple drag the audio, the vido and make some chapters. Gee, really hard stuff here ! Then you burn out with Nero or RNM, now that can be a challenge :D :D

How simple do you really want it to be?

tmpgenc does a pretty good job. Tries to fit it to the max size of the DVDR if you leave it to auto settings. Just need to know about frame rates really then it becomes quite easy

Firstly thanks to Killamente, Chicken Man, ipdave, The poacher, and aybesea for the help that you gave with my AVI to DVD problem. The tutorial worked a treat and I have now produced a couple of decent quality disks, even though it took a long time to do them.

The only problem now is the massive, very bright CCE logo that appears on the finished copy. Do any of you know how I can remove this. I don't want to purchase CCE to find that I am stuck with this large and gaudy advert on all of my films, or will it disappear on a registered copy?

Thanx again to you all

You are using the Demo version of CCE and that gives you the logo. The registered version does NOT have the logo.

Thanx Chicken Man. It is good to know that there are people out there, like yourself, who obviously get satisfaction from helping others.
More power to your elbow and may your glass always be full.
Cheers
