Try Canopus Procoder for VCD. A little slow but the quality is much much better than ...... for mpeg1 (vcd)

Try Canopus Procoder for VCD
i thought it didnt do dvd to vcd

6 pass vbr?? VCD is 1 pass CBR only, anything else and it ain't VCD
i've done a vcd with dvd2svcd+cce with cbr an then i done it with 6pass vbr an noticed the quality was alot better burnt it to cdr an watched it on dvd player

Try EazyVCD
i've had this a few days, havent had time to try it yet

As far as I know CCE doesn't support multipass VBR for MPEG1, so what you created was not even close to being VCD in which case you really can't compare it to the quality of a VCD and complain.

If you have a look at ChickenMan's tute you'll see that he states that cce produces lousy results for vcds (though good for svcd and dvd). Your results confirm his opinion.

EazyVCD, I believe uses TMPGEnc for encoding.
Yes it does and, of course, TMPGEnc is the program that CM recommends as the encoder for best possible quality vcds.
