BEST DVD RIPPING & COPYING SOFTWARE? and few other questions

Hi guys

Now that i have sussed out which are the best blank dvd disks around for my new sony 510a writer, I have a few further questions to expand my knowledge into the dvd world!:)

- firstly which software is the most easiest and quickest for ripping dvd movies and which software would you recommend for copying. (i currently use nero and find it pretty good) but i am not sure which is the best software around for ripping.

secondly - i have a few dvd's with video songs and the dvd's are over 4.7 in size. I want to reduce the size to 4.7 so i can ripp it just in one blank dvd. Whats the best way to do that? obvoiusly i would have to deselect some of the songs in order reduce.

finally are there any members who own a Sony dvp ns305 series dvd player like myself, and which blank dvds would they recommend to be played on this player -whichout any problems? and yes it is multiregionable.

thanks in advance :)

Dave

If you are new to this stuff, my suggested progression would be something like this:

1) Learn & use DVDXCopy. The single easiest solution for backing up DVDs.

2) Learn & use DVD2One or InstantCopy. You will also need to learn DVDDecrypter at this time. Both of these allow for backups to a single DVD-R.

3) Progress to authoring your own DVDs by reading the various guides and asking questions.

I feel that this is the most painless way to slip into the DVD-R world.

Just my opinion.

Do you really want THE BEST?;)

The only thing I want to know is how to get the most of whatever program I have to make the best out of it, and still having problem.

To me, THE BEST is the one I can use as I have tried the other people's best programs, the most expensive ones and they just stare and laught at me :D

best ripper. dvd decryptor.
easiest program (tho not the best...not bad) dvd2one.
dvdxcopy is great if u want to back up to 2 dvds.

If you want the BEST quality, then the use of CCE is the only way to go.

If you want the easiest and the fastest, then dvd2one is the way to go.

InstantCopy 7 fits somewhere in between these 2.

The BEST software for you is the one that achives the results your after or expecting, as just about every one of the dvd backup software has pros & cons that overlap each other. Suggest you start trying a few and purchae the one that suits YOUR needs best.
