"Bargain and deals" section

Have any of the administrators ever considered the creation of a section dedicated to PC hardware "deals" ?

So many of us come across bargains that we may not need or want but it would be good information to share. If this information were to be posted it might help others out.

The subject line of such posts could be to the point, as we want all posts to be. It could include the name of the discounted product (model number if applicable) with the price, or it could include the name of the vendor who is having a massive sale. The post would include the URL(s) and other relevant information.

Maybe this has been discussed before and the admins decided to pass? Maybe this is too broad a topic to have a single section and best left to forums dedicated to such information? Or maybe it would create a lot of extra clutter that nobody truly benefits from, especially considering that most deals have expiration dates, which would make many posts obsolete quickly. Not sure, that's why I would love to hear feedback.

The only definitive "problem" I can see with this is that many of us cannot get free shipping that often helps to make a "deal" the deal it claims to be. This is largely due to the policies of the companies, which are scattered about the world, that do not offer free shipping overseas. Many companies I visit regularly DO offer free shipping if the destination is here in the U.S. But maybe as a guideline, the subject line could include this information if the thread-starter knows this much beforehand.

Wedge.. I see you posted it in Consumer's opinion.;) I changed the section options to include bargains for hardware. The forum is 'huge' right now,so I can't see adding another section.;)

Since most bargains are for a limited time,I think this will suffice.Hope you approve!:)

Yeah woody whatever you deem appropriate. Just wanted to see what you thought even though I do realize that the forum is quite large.

However, I'm unable to find "section options to include bargains for hardware". Am I understanding you correctly? Is this a sub section?

Oh, and sorry if I posted that 200GB hard drive in an inappropriate section. Move or delete things as you think they should be. You will hear no fuss from me :)

No. I just added text to the forum where posting details are explained.Right under the forum title(consumer's opinion.).;)

I could add a subsection, but will hold off for now. Some of the subforums are currently underused. If enough people ask I could reconsider. Thanks for the idea as always.:)
