bad graphics

i have a compaq v50 monitor wired to a dell optiplex gx110.i dont have a graphics card installed but i have done something to my monitor as it wont let me have any more than 16 colours(640x480pixels) out of device manager.i know that they can be restored as the graphics were great at one time.
have i deleted the driver?if so does any body know what it is cause its driving me up the wall?
any advice greatly appreciated?

googling around the optilex gex110 is onboard graphics of the Intel810(TM) Graphics variety choose to update the driver and choose the intel 810 driver and all should be well :)

cheers for that additional LTR i did not look for a specific link i just looked to see what graphics that machine used... thanks for finding that one :)
