Backing up halo(pc version)

Im trying to back up my halo disk with alcohol120. Yet the process of making the image is taking incredibly long. Plus there are many errors. I waited 30mins and it only got through 1% of the image. That means this will take around 50 hours, over 2 days to complete the image at this rate.

Use Safedisc 2 profile. And yes sometimes it can took 2h+. And there should be about 10000 wrong sectors.

If it is taking ages to read then you might want to try doing a fast dump. Takes only a few seconds to get through the errors then.

The fast dump technique was originally for Daemon-Tools, but it works fine with Alcohol, at least it did when I tested it.

What should the image format be set as? Media Descriptor Image, Clone Cd Image, CDRWIN image, or classic iso?

If using alcohol just use its native format (media descriptor image; i.e mds/mdf).

Halo uses Safedisc 2.7 from memory

CloneCD should copy this 100% no worries, would take an average of 15mins if done on the fly
