Hello Everyone :)
Just joined and thought i would have a go at backing up a dvd to another dvd. Followed what LAZZ said to the letter without sucess, my dvd rw is a NEC DVD-RW ND 1300A ive just got it so i cant see any problems there.
Strange thing is when a put a black dvd in the drive its properties change to Cd Rom and it says that there is no space on the disc and when i eject the media it goes back to DVD RW.
Ive seem to have wasted two discs for no reason

IS THERE ANYONE WHO CAN HELP?????????

BEST REGARDS TO EVERYONE FOR THE NEW YEAR

I think you should rip it to the HD first then burn from there. Also don't go by what windows tells you thats just Microcrap playing with you. XP tells me my DD0401 is just a DVD-R drive and when I put a blank G04 in it tells me its a CD Drive. But I can burn with out a problem to DVD-/+/RW. So try the HD and let us know.

Use lastest Nero 6.3.2 to burn in DVD-video mode .. and most likely have more success .. yer yer I know some ppl out there reckon no it not the one to use .. 300 + dvd's I burnt using Nero .. all been success ..

I use recordnow max v4.5 for writing DVD movies and have found it to be best program (for me). I don't know about newer versions of nero but older versions are known to produce discs that are not DVD compliant.

Definately would rip movie to HD 1st though. Save a lot of heartache doing it this way. :p
