backing up data to DVD+RW

excuse my ignorance, i have done quite a bit of searching but have very little to show for it.

i want to back up my computer data files to a DVD+RW and am having trouble finding appropiate software or guides?

I saw that nero (Web installer & retail version) will do DVD video, but i want to burn data.

can anyone pls point me in the right direction. Thanks & regards from downunder!

i presume, you will not back up your whole system, you like to store only pure data files from your HDD to DVD+RW;

O.K. you can master a pure data DVD with most of all commercial burning applications, Nero included; if you like to do this with freeware i will recommend you BAO = burnatonce http://www.burnatonce.com; :)

edit: i moved your posting to another rubric, because you won't copy a "DVD to DVDR", and "CDR Software" is for DVD+RW too; :)

problem solved.

it appears i didn't have the DVD writer selected in Nero or Nero had an issue when i had both the CDRW & DVD writer on IDE1 & 2 respectively (i have a raid board & have the HDD on the raid controller). This restricted my access in Nero to CD writing menus only (no menu for DVD writing).

once i put the DVD writer on ide 1 & removed the CDRW (an selected the DVD writer in nero, not the virtual drive) i then had access to the DVD writing menus.

I'll re-install the CDRW as well, as my problem was probably "the dreaded finger problem"!

I'll also try burnatonce.

thanks & regards from downunder
