Back up mp3 2 DVD-R

Hi everybody just bought my first DVD writer (NEC 2500A) everything ok with backing up DVD's but I tried to back up my mp3 collection using Nero multisession as I normally do with CD-R's but now when I try to burn them on to my DVD-R's i'm getting a sorry wrong media type message coming up & can't burn 2 the DVD disc. Anybody got any ideas or any other program that I can use. Thanx Broxi.

Hi Broxibearz, Welcome to our forum!

there was a Nero bug wich caused "DVD multisession" capability only for DVD+R and DVD+RW (have a look at this);
so get the latest free Nero update at http://www.ahead.de/en/updates.html

anyway be warned, Nero's "DVD multisession" doesn't belongs to any DVD specifications; actually the only trusty option is a non-finalized/non-closed DVD (UDF); but Nero doesn't seem to be able to produce such thing;

I have use Nero to burn multisession DVD-R's quite a bit really. Never done it for MP3's just for data. Thats using Nero 5.5.10.x and now 6.3.0.10. They may be non-standard but I['ve never had any problems there.

As for MP3's on DVDR, just because your DVD Player plays MP3's on a CDR does NOT automatically mean it can play them on a DVDR. Read your players manual and do a small test run on a RW first to try it out.

i'll add here AS with DVD video PLAYERS are picky with DVD media for mp3 disks too so again try better medias

Thanx Chickenman but I'm writing 2 DVD purely as a back up & not 2 play on my DVD player.

Hey.. no problems, as said, find a media your burner likes and start backing them up.
