Well I assume you mean VSFilter which contains DirectVOBSub as it replaced the standalone version months ago.

Simply right click on vsfilter.dll and select unregister, then delete it, if you don't have the regsvr32 shell extension installed then save the below text as RegShExt.inf and install it.

Code:
; RegSvr32 Shell Extension
; Registriere DLL, OCX, EXE per Rechtsklick
; Win 9x, NT4 & 2k
; Release 1.0

You could also run regsvr32 manually.

If you do mean the old version, then as I recall it came with its own installer/uninstaller, which you should find on the start menu or program files\gabest

Hi

First Id like to thnak you for replying... Unfortunatly it dont work...

I dont have the old version of DirectVobSub.. Its the latest.. cuz ive recently put that in about 3 weeks ago..

The only file are available are only three file I did a search on my computer, and it fount only three file they are:-

vobsub.dll
doitvobsub.dll
DVobSub.ax

If there is a method of removing please HELP... I dont just want to delete them... I want to remove them properly...

Regards
Mojo

No you have the old version. As I said the DirectVOBSub, autodirectVOBSub and AVISynth and VDub VOBSub and TextSub plugins were all integrated into VSFilter months ago and there has not been a release of the standalone vobsub since, which makes the version that you have at least several months old.

You may have installed it recently, however that does not mean it is the latest.

The last version of VOBSub was v2.23 last year. The first release of VSFilter oddly enough was v2.24 and the latest is v2.32 which was released earlier this month, pretty much one year after the last release of the old VOBSub.

Like I said run the uninstall, if that doesn't work, unregister and then delete them.

Hi

Thanks for replying

First thing is the vsfilter.dll file cant be found, secondly ive used the commands to create the RegShExt.inf and installed it, thirdly the three file that I told you about are not being uninstalled error comes up (something a libary not found)... Now if I wanted to uninstall the RegShExt.inf file how do I do that...

Unless there is another way

Regards

As I said, the method works fine to remove any directshow filter. Unregister, then delete.

To uninstall the regsvr shell extension simply use the uninstall in add/remove programs. Don't know why you would want to though, it comes in handy for installing/uninstalling dshow filters and other stuff.

So when you select unregister for DVobSub.ax you get an error? Did you install it by itself or as part of some codec pack?

Thanks again for replying

But my wont unregister the dll files... Thats why I want to remove it..
Its not even in the add/remove programs..
